Offline guided walks
I’ve been leading guided walks and giving public talks on a range of subjects for over a decade. I’ve led over 150 events with more than 7000 people. I lead fungi, tree, bird, insect and wildflower walks that are engaging, fun and accessible for all. I can also provide training in photography and a range of wildlife and nature ID subjects.
Online talks
I give online talks via Zoom, Teams or whatever works for you. My talks use all of my own photographs and can cover a range of subjects. Here’s an example of the kind of talks I’ve given in the past.
Event options
I can be booked to lead the following group walks in an outdoor setting (city, town or country) or as indoor presentation:
- Fungi – introduction to fungi, ecology, basic edibility, culture
- Woodland trees – identification, culture, uses, management
- Woodland birds – song and call identification, ecology, culture
- Butterflies – identification of common species, ecology, conservation
- Woodland wildflowers – identification, edibility, uses, ecology, culture
- Macro photography for beginners – the basics of macro or close-up photography using any type of digital camera inc. smartphones (outdoor with option of classroom)
- How to use iNaturalist – basic introduction to wildlife spotting using a smartphone or camera
- Longer-distance guided walks – I can support with the planning or leading of longer-term guided walks in city, town or rural areas
