What a wonderful photo! Magical light and sky and the reaching trees – so many channels drawing me into the scene; upward towards the sky, onward along the paths – and earthward where the whole scene is kind of gathered together by the reflections within the circular, water-filled hollow… And all drawing me back into many lovely memories too! Perfect! 🙂

The sound of those branches clicking as the wind moved through was quite something.
I can just imagine it (especially when I look again at your lovely photo) – such a wintry, atmospheric sound!
When we moved on ahead a procession of fallow deer crossed the track
Magical! By the way, I meant to mention before – the only time I ever saw and heard a golden oriole, like the one pictured on your avatar, was in one of my favourite Kentish woodlands!
You are very lucky indeed! I’ve only ever heard them, though that is all I wanted, in Central France and Northern Spain. What an incredible voice.
